Summary Report on Police response to complaints made by Ashlee Edwards

Summary Report on fatal pursuit of James Dean Miles

14 November 2013 - The Independent Police Conduct Authority today released its report into the death of 18 year-old James Dean Miles following a Police pursuit north of Katikati in late 2012, finding Police followed all relevant Policy and acted appropriately during the pursuit. Summary Report on the serious bodily harm to four youths during a Police pursuit

8 August 2013 - The Authority today released the results of its investigation on the serious bodily harm to four youths during a Police pursuit. Summary Report on the death of Callan Moss following a Police pursuit

8 August 2013 - The Authority today released the results if its investigation into the death of Callan Moss following a Police pursuit. The Authroity found that Police not only considered all risk factors before commencing the pursuit but also fully complied with the law and Police policy during the pursuit. Report into serious injury to Shane Legg following arrest

5 August 2013 - The Authority today released the results of its independent investgation into the serious injury to Shane Legg following his arrest. The Authority found that while Police actions were reasonable and complied with the law in most respects, one officer failed to fulfil his duty of care to the person in his custody. Report on the death of Georgina Cherish Stone – Te Haara following Police Pursuit

9 July 2013 - The Authority found that the actions of the fleeing driver, Mr Tonga, ultimately led to the death of Ms Stone-Te Haara. While officers failed to comply with Police policy in some areas, the Authority could not conclude that these failures and other actions contributed to Ms Stone-Te Haara’s death. Operation Eight: The Report of the Independent Police Conduct Authority

22 May 2013 - An Independent Police Conduct Authority report has found that Police acted unlawfully in establishing road blocks and detaining and searching people during ‘Operation Eight’. Full Report (PDF, 1587.2kb).

The Authority today released the results of its independent investigation into the Police operation which focused on the activities of a group of people who appeared to be involved in military-style training camps based in the remote Urewera forest in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

Report released on triple fatality following Police pursuit

9 May 2013 - An independent investigation into three deaths and a serious injury following a Police pursuit of a fleeing car in Gisborne last year was released today. Full Report

Use of Taser justified

4 February 2013 - The Independent Police Conduct Authority has recommended that Police review and change their policies following a pursuit of a motorcyclist who suffered serious bodily harm, including a severe brain injury, when he crashed during a Police pursuit.
