Officer accused of historical assaults on a child

1 October 2019

The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into allegations that, prior to her employment with Police, a woman (who is now a police officer) physically assaulted a child in her care five times between 2008-2012.

Police found insufficient evidence to charge the officer with any offence, so no further action was taken.

The Authority was satisfied that the allegations were investigated appropriately and agreed with the finding and outcome which included a conclusion that the allegations were malicious and were fabricated by her ex-husband because of a custody battle.
