Allegation that an off-duty officer permitted a group of civilian associates to enter a Police station and take photographs wearing Police personal safety equipment

9 July 2020

The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into an incident where it was alleged an off-duty Police officer in Wellington permitted his friends to enter a Police station and take photographs wearing other officers' personal safety equipment. Police found that the officer's actions breached the Police Code of Conduct, and an employment sanction was imposed on the officer.

The Authority is satisfied with how the Police conducted their investigation and the outcomes they reached.
