An officer in Waitemata who was driving under lights and sirens in response to a fleeing driver incident, pleaded guilty to a charge of dangerous driving after he lost control of his police vehicle and crashed into a motorway barrier.
The Authority oversaw the Police investigation into the crash. Following the completion of criminal proceedings, the officer was dealt with through a confidential employment process. The Authority agrees with the outcome of the Police investigation and the actions taken.
