Off-duty recruit investigated for inappropriately touching a woman at a bar

20 July 2021

The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into a notification received from Police National Headquarters about an allegation that an off-duty recruit inappropriately touched a woman at a bar. The Police investigated the matter and found the legal test for prosecution was met and charged the recruit with indecent assault. During the employment process, the recruit resigned from Police.

The Authority is satisfied with how the Police conducted their investigation and the outcomes they reached.
