The Authority was notified by Police of a family harm incident where a Police officer had purposefully damaged her partner's vehicle when on duty. The officer self-reported what she had done the next day.
Police investigated and found that although there was evidential sufficiency it was not in the public interest to charge the officer with wilful damage. No complaint had been made by the partner and the damage was repaired. Police were unable to complete an employment investigation as the officer resigned.
The Authority agrees with the Police findings and actions.
