Potential conflict of interest between a Police officer and a relative who is a member of an organised crime group

12 December 2022

The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into a matter in which a Police officer was overheard speaking with a relative, who is a member of an organised crime group. The conversation raised concerns that the officer may have provided sensitive information to his relative.

The Police investigation uncovered no evidence that the Police officer had provided any sensitive information.

The Authority is satisfied with the outcome of the Police investigation.
