A person raised a concern to the Authority over being issued a formal warning for having alcohol in an alcohol-ban area. He felt he should not have received the warning as, although others in the group had alcohol, he did not have any alcohol on him. He simply offered his details to the officer who approached the group as he was closest. It was not made clear to him that he would receive a warning.
The Authority asked Police to review the warning given the circumstances described by the complainant. Following their review, Police withdrew the warning and apologised to the complainant.
