PNHQ District: Police staff member lied about damaging property

14 August 2023

The Authority received a complaint via Police that a Police employee unintentionally damaged a door at a stadium while driving a police vehicle. The employee did not report this to their supervisor or the venue.

When contacted by the venue the employee denied any knowledge of the damage but admitted responsibility when the venue advised CCTV footage had captured the event.

The Authority is satisfied that Police have appropriately addressed the employee’s dishonest behaviour in a confidential employment outcome.
