The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into a notification alleging an off-duty Police officer had assaulted their child.
A criminal investigation determined there was sufficient evidence to lay criminal charges, but due to the minor nature of the assault, it was deemed not to be in the public interest to do so. An employment process found the officer’s actions breached the Police code of conduct, and they were sanctioned for their actions.
The Authority agrees with the investigation findings and employment outcome.
