The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into a complaint from a man held in court cells. The man said he was crouching by the cell door with his arms out of the flap normally used to pass food and drink to detainees. He was making noise to demand attention. An officer swore at him and kicked his arms four times, until he withdrew them. The man suffered bruising.
Police charged the officer with assault, and he pleaded guilty. He also received an appropriate employment outcome.
The Authority agreed with the findings and outcome of the investigation.
