The Authority oversaw a Police investigation from Southern District into an allegation that an officer used excessive force to apprehend a teenager who had absconded from a residential facility in 2022.
Police undertook a criminal investigation to determine if the officer had committed any offences. The officer denied the young person’s allegations against them. The investigation found there was no evidence to support a charge against the officer.
Police considered there were no employment issues arising from this incident.
The Authority is satisfied with how the Police conducted their investigation and the process they followed.
