The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into an allegation that an officer disclosed private information to a third party and provided advice to a friend encouraging their daughter to exaggerate the truth in a Court application.
Police found the officer had not disclosed private information. They found the advice provided was in breach of the Police Code of Conduct, but accepted that the officer had not intended to encourage her friend’s daughter to misrepresent the facts. Police took appropriate employment action against the officer.
The Authority agrees with the outcome of the Police investigation.
