Officer’s access of Police database a breach of Police policy and Code of Conduct

11 February 2025

The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into an allegation that an Eastern District officer had accessed and shared information from the Police database for personal reasons.

Police investigated and concluded no information had been shared by the officer and no criminal offences had been committed. The Authority agrees with this finding.

Police then completed an employment process and found that the officer was in breach of Police policy and the Police Code of Conduct. Police have taken appropriate action to deal with the officer’s behaviour.

The Authority agrees with this finding.
