Detective investigated after audit found they accessed their own information on Police database

18 March 2025

The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into a notification alleging that a detective had accessed their record on the Police database and reviewed information relating to their neighbour’s address.

The enquiries undertaken by Police found the officer had a legitimate work-related reason for accessing the Police information and no breaches of Police policy had occurred.

The Authority is satisfied with the process undertaken by Police and the outcome reached.
