Are you interested in making a contribution toward improving the fairness and effectiveness of policing?
Are you able to:
The Independent Police Conduct Authority is an independent statutory body which investigates complaints against the Police and incidents where Police actions have resulted in death or serious injury.
We are looking for a versatile Manager able to manage the Authority’s investigation and assurance processes.
The Manager: Assurance manages a team comprised of investigators and support staff, who oversee and review Police investigations into complaints. The team also includes our unit responsible for ensuring the Police’s custodial facilities and practices meet international standards.
The Manager: Investigations manages a team of investigators and supporting staff responsible for the independent investigation of critical incidents and complaints, and producing reports outlining the outcomes of those investigations. The team also provides an oversight function with regard to recommendations made by the Authority to Police.
While the current vacancy is for the Manager: Assurance role, we are looking for a candidate capable of fulfilling either role as there is an expectation of rotation between the roles over time. Our objective of developing a responsive and flexible workforce also encourages us to seek adaptable staff with transferrable skills.

You will have advanced analytical skills and sound judgment and be decisive and action oriented. You will have a background in law enforcement or knowledge of policing or other law enforcement operations. A background in investigations would be an advantage.
