The Authority oversaw a Police investigation into a notification alleging that an off-duty Police officer was found intoxicated and in a state of undress on the beach. Police were called to assist. The person subsequently assaulted officers when they attempted to help her.
The officer pleaded guilty to charges of assaulting Police and was discharged without conviction by the court. Police were of the view the officers' actions were a serious lapse of judgement.
Police took remedial action with the officer involved, and the Authority is satisfied with the outcome they reached.
